During the Graduation week of Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology (Art)ScienceBLR conducted a workshop where participants built a camera obscura (literally a darkened chamber) inside a room. The camera was built from steel poster supports over which garbage bags were draped. A simple magnifying glass was used for the lens and a movable whiteboard acted as the focusing plane plus the paper holder. Traditional b/w paper was used for making the negatives. Once the exposure was made, the negative was developed at the back of the camera, where the wet lab was set up on chairs.
